This rare ink box celebrates the establishment of the People’s Republic of China on October 1, 1949. The cover of the inkpad is engraved: "The People's Republic of China Chairman Mao" "Work creates the world, production builds the country" "Memorabilia for the Establishment of the Country, October 1, 1949” As seen in the photos, the box is in nice condition for a piece that has been used and is more than 70 years old. It measures approximately 4” x 4” x 1.25”.
